10 Common Mistakes to Avoid Before Your Personal Branding Photoshoot.

1) Crash-Diet to lose a few quick pounds to look slimmer.

Desperate to drop a few pounds for your upcoming photoshoot? Think again!

Don't worry about those extra pounds. As a professional photographer, I know the right angles, lighting, and editing techniques to elegantly shape and slim your body. Besides, even losing 5-10 lbs will not be noticeable in your photos. Instead, a crash diet will leave you drained, impatient, and unable to hold those glamorous poses.

If you are not used to posing, you will find it takes work to hold poses, especially while trying to keep a glamorous expression.

Eat Healthy and Plenty of Calories!

2) Drink less water so as not to be bloated.

Avoid the Dizzy Route: Stay Hydrated!

You might think drinking less water will help you appear less bloated during the photoshoot. In reality, it can lead to weakness, dizziness, and even fainting. Hydration is vital to your well-being, especially during a photoshoot. You need water to function, and you'll feel dizzy and weak if you are poorly hydrated. Plus, you can even faint and get hurt. (Yes! I have had a client faint during a shoot because of dehydration.)

3) Welcome to Miami! Bienvenido a Miami...- Let's Party!

Save the Miami Party for After the Shoot!

You're excited to be in Miami! But remember, a well-rested model is a photogenic model. A photoshoot is several hours long and can be physically challenging if you are tired or not used to posing. Just holding a pleasant expression and your chin up while standing in high heels can be exhausting. Plus, your eyes will burn, and it will be challenging to have an elegant, pleasing expression if you are tired. That's why you need your body to be ready for the shoot's physical activities, especially if you're shooting outside, where the heat and elements drain your energy even faster. If you have sensitive eyes, you must rest even more before your beach/outdoor shoot. Also, forget about doing anything the night before your shoot.

4) Applying Self-Tanning lotion or too much.

Avoid the Orange Skin: Skip the Self-Tan!

Are you thinking of using a self-tanning cream? Don't!

It's imperative that you avoid applying self-tanning cream or lotion as it can leave your skin looking unnaturally orange in digital photos. Correcting this can be a nightmare, and you don't want to end up with uneven darker and orange/brown areas that make your skin look blotchy. Trust me, it's not worth the risk. Instead, ask me for other solutions, and I'll gladly suggest them. To see the bad results for yourself, look at the photos of these celebrities.

5) Not having a fresh shave/wax, manicure, and pedicure.

Pampering Yourself: Shave, Mani, & Pedi!

High-resolution digital cameras catch a moment frozen in time and everything, right down to the fill of your chipped nails or a missed shave. It will be noticeable that you have not shaved in your bikini areas, underarms, legs, arms, or any other hair areas. So remember to set a time for a fresh shave, wax, manicure, and pedicure. For the best results, take care of these grooming tasks a day in advance to avoid any potential skin irritation, ensuring the camera captures nothing but your best.

6) Your Own Makeup, or not pro studio pigments.

Leave Makeup to the Glamour Pros!

Professional cameras, lenses, and lights capture more details than you would notice in real life. Unfortunately, they also capture more of your blemishes. So, don't do your makeup unless you're a pro makeup artist. Our professional makeup artists are here to give you celebrity-style, luxury-glamour results. They know how to help you look your absolute best, hiding blemishes and accentuating your features in a way regular makeup might miss. Yes, they are experienced in all skin tones and ages, guaranteeing you're photo-ready. Investing in professional makeup is the standard of a luxury glamour shoot.

7) Wearing Tight Clothes before your shoot.

No to Tight Clothes On Shoot Day: Yes, Sundress!

Avoid all clothes that might leave marks on your skin. These will be visible in high-resolution photos and are challenging to edit out. No jeans, leggings, fishnets, boots, or clothing holding onto your skin on the day of your shoot. You want your skin to be as blemish-free as possible for your shoot, and clothing that is not loose-fitting will leave marks on your skin.

The best clothes to wear on the day of your shoot is a loose sundress that you can change in and out of.

8) Wear the wrong swimwear for your body & brand.

9) Leaving Something for the day of the shoot.

10) The Luxury of Time: Your Blueprint for a Flawless Shoot

Don't sabotage your shoot by cramming last-minute errands into the day. Whether picking up flowers, getting a manicure, or finalizing an outfit, leaving these tasks for the day of your shoot is a recipe for stress and subpar results.
